UPSC Recruitment 2018- Apply for Six New Posts

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in its latest job notification has announced vacancies for Translator (Burmese and Dari Persian),  Legal Officer, Public Prosecutor, Stores Officer, Senior Lecturer posts. Interested and eligible candidates must apply for the posts before March 29, 2018, on the official UPSC website.

Candidates are requested to apply only Online against this advertisement on the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) website– upsconline.nic.in and not write to the Commission for Application forms. They are also requested to carefully go through the details of posts and instructions published below as well as on the website– upsconline.nic.in. Before applying the candidates must know the duties to be performed for various posts. Here are the details relating to the vacancies:-

Vacancy Details:

1.  Translator (Burmese)

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Defence
  • Department:  Department of Defence
  • Organisation:  Signal Intelligence Directorate Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters
  • No of Posts: 1 (UR)
  • Pay Scale:  Level 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC
  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date for UR Candidate, Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to Five years as per instruction/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.   • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in the Foreign Language concerned (BURMESE) with English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level from a recognized University.
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University; and (b) Diploma in foreign language concerned (BURMESE) with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India.
  • Duties:
  • Translation into English of intercepted traffic, recorded tapes and printed material. Perusal and checking of translation work of unit translators.
  • Translation of materials received from Military Intelligence Directorate and other sources,
  • Preparation of training exercises for languages trained personnel.
  • Maintenance of foreign language publication, collation of intelligence information and other allied jobs.

2. Translator ( Dari/Persian)

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Defence
  • Department: Department of Defence
  • Organisation: Signal Intelligence Directorate Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters
  • No of Posts: 1 (SC:1, PH:1)
  • Pay Scale: Level 10 in the Pay Matrix (56100)
  • Age: Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date for SC Candidate, Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to Five years as per instruction/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. 3. Legal Officer (Grade-II)

  • Department: Other
  • Organisation:  Legal and Treaties Division
  • No of Posts: 5 (UR: 2, OBC: 2, ST:1, PH:1)
  • Pay Scale: Pre-revised – Rs.15600-39100/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 6600/- in Pay Band-3. As per 7th CPC- Level 11 (Rs.67700-208700/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding HRA and TA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.67700/- plus D.A. as applicable p.m. approximately.)
  • Age: Not exceeding 40 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 43 years for Other Backward Class candidates and 45 years for Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.   • Educational Qualification:  Masters degree in Law with specialization in the field of International Law and/or International Relations or International Organizations from a recognized University.
    Note – International Law would, inter-alia, include major areas of International Law such as Law of the Sea, Human Rights Law, International Environmental Law, International Criminal Law and International Trade Law.
    ii) Candidates having specialization in International Law in M. Phil. or Ph. D. level but not at Masters level will also be eligible.
  • Experience: 5 years experience, after obtaining the minimum educational qualification in Legal Affairs, namely Legal Practitioner, in Legal service of the Government, teaching or conducting or guiding research in International Law or in the Law of International Organizations.
  • Duties: To assist Legal and Treaties Division on Legal aspects concerning Indias International Treaties, Laws of seas, rivers etc.

4. Public Prosecutor

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Home Affairs
  • Department: Other
  • Organisation:  National Investigation Agency
  • No of Posts: 4 (UR: 3, OBC: 1)
  • Pay Scale: As per 7th CPC Level 10 (Rs. 56100-177500) in the PAY MATRIX. (Pay Band 3, Rs.15600-39100/- with Grade Pay of Rs 5400/- in pre-revised scale). (Total emoluments excluding HRA and Transport Allowance at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/- plus DA as applicable plus Special Security Allowance @ 20% of Basic Pay per month) plus admissible Dress Allowance.
  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Class candidates in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.   • Educational Qualification: (i) Degree in Law from a recognized University.
    (ii) Basic knowledge of word processing on computer and internet.
  • Experience: 7 years practice as an Advocate in conducting criminal cases or 7 years’ experience of State Judicial Service or Legal Department of State or Central Government.
  • Duties: To deal/look after all legal matters of the National Investigation Agency which will include conducting of cases in courts, legal vetting of various documents, giving legal opinions, drafting and preparation of legal correspondence, handling appeals and revisions etc.

5. Stores Officer

  • Organisation: Geological Survey of India
  • No of Posts: 4 (UR: 3, SC: 1)
  • Pay Scale:  Level-7 in the pay matrix(Rs 44,900-1,42,400)
  • Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 Years for Scheduled Castes candidates in respect of vacancy reserved for them.   • Duties: To look after any or all Materials Management functions including material procurement, maintenance of stores etc.

6.  Senior Lecturer (Textile Processing)

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Textiles

  • Organisation: Weavers Service Centres WSC and Indian Institutes of Handloom Technology IIHT
  • No of Posts: 1(UR: 1)
  • Pay Scale:  Rs. 15,600-39,100 ( PB-3) plus Rs. 5,400 (Grade Pay) (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.59000/-p.m. approximately)
  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.   • Educational Qualification: Degree in Textile Processing or Textile Chemistry or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Textile Processing or Textile Chemistry from a recognized University or Institute or
    Post Diploma in Textile Chemistry or Textile Processing from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Experience: Three years experience as a Lecturer in Textile Chemistry/Bleaching/Dyeing/Printing/Finishing in a recognized Institute or as a shift-in-charge in a dye house /Textile mill in wet processing/finishing/bleaching of textiles.
  • Duties:  1. Handling lectures both theory and practical in the subjects of Textile Chemistry for the Diploma Course.
    2. To be overall in-charge of Chemical and Processing Section of the Institute, as and when required.
    3. To guide students in Project work.
