UPSC Recruitment 2018- Fresh Vacancies announced

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in its latest job notification has announced vacancies for Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Paediatric Surgery), Medical Officer and other posts. Interested and eligible candidates must apply for the posts before February 1, 2018 on the official UPSC website.

They are also requested to carefully go through the details of posts and instructions published below as well as on the website– upsconline.nic.in. Before applying the candidates must know the duties to be performed for various posts. Here are the details relating to the vacancies:-

Vacancy Details:

1. Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Paediatric Surgery)

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
  • No of Posts: 2 (OBC)
  • Pay Scale: PB-3 i.e. Rs.15, 600-39,100 with Grade Pay Rs.6600/- plus N.P.A as admissible (Pre-Revised)
  • Age: Not exceeding 43 years for OBC candidates on the normal closing date, in respect of posts reserved for them
  • Educational Qualification: (i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (ii) Post-Graduate degree in the concerned specialty or Super-speciality mentioned in Section A of the Schedule-VI i.e. Magister of Chirurguie (Paediatric Surgery).
  • Experience: At least three years’ Teaching experience as Sr. Resident or Tutor or Demonstrator or Registrar in the concerned Specialty or Super-specialty in a recognized teaching institution after obtaining the first post graduate degree.
  • Duties:
  • 1.To impart theoretical and practical instructions to under-graduate/post-graduate medical students.
    2.To conduct and guide research work in the speciality.
    3.To render patient care in the speciality
    4. Any other duties that may be assigned by the authorities from time to time

2. Chemist

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Mines
  • No of Posts: 3 (UR: 2, OBC: 1)
  • Pay Scale: Revised Pay Scale as per 7th CPC – Level 10 (Rs.56100-177500/-) in the Pay Matrix and other allowances as applicable. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/- plus DA p.m. approximately).
  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Class candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.   • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Experience: Three years experience in chemical analysis of ores and minerals from a laboratory recognized as a Research Laboratory by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)/Department of Science and Technology (DST) or any other such government organization carrying out chemical analysis of ores and mineral.
  • Duties: To carry out chemical analysis of ores and minerals by conventional as well as by instrumental technique. Supervise the work of analysis of ores, minerals, ore dressing products and environmental samples carried out by the Assistant Chemist and other junior staff. Undertake the maintenance and repairing work of the instruments in the Chemical Laboratory. Coordination and standardization of instruments/equipment using suitable methods.

3. Deputy Director(Examination Reforms)

  • Ministry/Administration: Union Public Service Commission
  • No of Posts: 1 (UR)
  • Pay Scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 with GP. Rs. 6600/- (Level-11 in the revised pay matrix) (Total emoluments at the time of appointment will be Rs.67,700/- plus admissible allowances
  • Age: Not exceeding 40 years. Relaxable for Government Servant upto Five years as per instruction/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.   • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree or equivalent Post Graduate Diploma in any of these Subjects- History/Sociology/Economics/ Political Science/ Public Administration/ Geography/ or Law from a recognized University. Or equivalent.
    Note1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
  • Experience: Five years post qualification experience in teaching at degree level/ Research/ preparation of teaching-learning material/curriculum development/educational testing/examination reforms development and administration on online examination.
  • Duties: Deputy Director (ER) will assist the Senior Officers in Examination Reforms, Syllabus Revision and related work.

4. Scientist-‘B’ (Hydrometeorologist)

  • Ministry/Administration: Ministry of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation
  • No of Posts: 6 (UR:4, OBC:1, SC:1)
  • Pay Scale: Revised Pay Scale as per 7th CPC- Level 10 (Rs.56100-177500/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding HRA and Transport Allowance at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/- plus DA p.m. approximately)
  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years for General Category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Class candidates and 40 years for Scheduled Castes candidates as on normal closing date in case of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time.   • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Science or Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
    The equivalent word is clarified as under-
    Master degree (at least two years degree course after graduation) in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics or Master of Science Degree in any Discipline or Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Electricals Engineering or Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University / Institution.
  • Experience: 03 (Three) years research experience in Hydrometeorology work.
  • Duties: Collection/observation of Hydrometeorological data in the field. Rainfall measurement at Hydrometeorological stations. Collection of rainfall data in respect of all Hydrometeorological parameters preparation of reports. Computerization of data in data Bank, Assisting in preparation of maps and reports. Compilation of technical reports and arranging for the issuance of reports. Data collection and processing for special studies.

5. Medical Officer

  • Ministry/Administration: UT Administration of Daman and Diu
  • No of Posts: 11 (UR:5, OBC: 4, SC:2, PH:1)
  • Pay Scale: Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- in PB- 3 plus NPA (Pre-revised)
  • Age: Not exceeding 35 years on the normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 years for OBC candidates and not exceeding 40 years for SC candidates on the normal closing date, in respect of posts reserved for them. (Relaxable for Govt. servants by 5 years in accordance with instructions issued by the Central Govt.).   • Educational Qualification:(i) Medical qualifications included in the first or the second schedule or Part-II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in Sub-Section (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
    (ii) Completion of Compulsory Rotating in Internship
  • Duties: Consulting Indoor Outdoor Patients. To attend OPD, IPD, Emergency, Post Mortem and MLC cases.
